Korčula je srednjedalmatinski otok u Dubrovačko-neretvanskoj županiji. Ima površinu 279 m2, šesti je po veličini otok u Jadranskom moru, a broji oko 16.000 stanovnika. Karakterizira ga blaga klima i zelena mediteranska flora.

Tri su veća naselja na otoku Korčuli: gradovi Korčula i Vela Luka na obali te Blato u unutrašnjosti.
Gradovi odišu srednjovjekovnim načinom gradnje i mediteranskim šarmom, a karakteriziraju ih kamene kućice, uske ulice i široki trgovi okruženi renesansnim palačama.

Korcula has been known to a man since stone age, and it has been inhabited by different peoples, from the Greeks, over the Illyrians, to the Slavs.
The island is situated on a very faourable traffic route, so through historyit changed many rulers, since all imortant naval forces waned to have this Adriatic pearl under their rule.
One of the important features of the island of Korcula is a very indented coast in front of which numerous little islands are spread. Thanks to this, the island abounds in beautiful, wild, hidden beaches.
As a touristically still relatively an unknown destination, the nature of the island is almost untouched and the sea is crystal clear.
There are three bigger towns on the island: the towns of Korcula and Vela Luka on the coast, and Blato in the inland.
The towns are characterized by a Medieval construction and a Mediterranean charm, with small stone house, narrow streets and wide squares surrounded by Renaissance palaces.
