Rovinj ist eine Stadt im westlichen Teil Kroatiens. Es liegt an der Westküste Istriens. Zusammen mit Poreč bildet es das touristische Zentrum Istriens und ist eines der attraktivsten Touristenziele an der Adria. Es ist eine der „fotogensten" Städte im Mittelmeerraum. Früher war es ein Fischerdorf und heute ist es ein Touristenort etwa 40 Kilometer von Pula entfernt. Seit der Antike ist sie als Stadt bekannt, deren klimatische Eigenschaften sich positiv auf die Gesundheit auswirken.
